Strolling and Eating in Cimory

What comes to mind when you hear “Cimory”? Yogurt, right? That’s correct! But what about visiting Cimory for a day of fun and good food? While Cimory is famous for its yogurt, the Cimory Group actually owns 16 subsidiaries in the food and beverage (F&B) industry, primarily focusing on dairy products. So, it’s not just about yogurt; they also offer milk, cheese, ice cream, chocolate, sausages, pastries, and even run restaurants and play areas. It’s a great spot for a healthy and educational outing with your loved ones!

On August 11, 2024, I joined a group of renowned female bloggers from sites like indohoy.com, negerisendiri.com, dewisubrata.com, nitadisini.wordpress.com, rryrivano.com, ayopelesiran.com, atemalem.com, and ceritaeka.com for a day trip to Puncak and Bogor. We deliberately chose a Thursday to avoid the crowds.

Less than an hour and a half from Senayan, Jakarta, we arrived at Cimory Mountain View in the morning. This was Cimory’s first restaurant, established in 2004, located on Jl. Raya Puncak Km 77. The place offers stunning views of mountains and lush green valleys, with the refreshing breeze of Puncak adding to the charm. I remember visiting here years ago, taking some friends’ kids who said that a trip to Puncak isn’t complete without stopping by Cimory for fresh milk and some fun at the playground. This time, I was here for breakfast. We started with a warm glass of fresh Cimory milk, rich and creamy with a hint of cream on top, reminiscent of the fresh milk from my childhood in the village. The highlight of the meal was the crispy-on-the-outside, moist-on-the-inside fried mantau, and the shrimp siomay was equally delicious. Others opted for more substantial dishes like spaghetti and rib soup, which were also tasty, but I was on a diet. Ahem.

Next, we were given a tour of the Patisserie Chocomory factory, where they produce various pastries, including the famous Moo Moo Roll Cake with four different flavors. Dressed in lab coats, shower caps, and shoe covers like surgeons, we watched the making of this legendary cake. Some of us even tried our hand at spreading chocolate on the rolls and rolling them up, only to realize how tricky it was. “This is tough!” remarked Dewi. But considering the ingredients, the process, and the heavenly aroma, it’s no wonder the cakes taste so amazing!

A kilometer down the road, we visited Cimory Riverside, which boasts beautiful river views that make you want to dive right in. Besides the restaurant, there’s plenty of space to explore. We took a leisurely stroll through the shaded Cimory Forest Walk, followed the river, crossed a bridge, and ended up at the Petting Zoo. This mini zoo features a variety of animals, with the most unique being the wallaby (a kangaroo-like creature), crested Bali ducks, and silkie chickens with fluffy, cotton-like feathers! The highlight, however, was the herd of black-and-white Holstein cows from the Netherlands, which produce Cimory’s milk. We also visited the Monster Aquarium, home to fierce Amazonian fish like piranhas, and the quirky Lulu Museum (Funny Painting Museum), which is full of 3D Trick Art. The paintings were so amusing that we couldn’t stop posing and laughing our heads off!

Around 1 PM, we had lunch at Bavarian Haus, a German-themed restaurant located at Jl. Raya Puncak No. 48, about 1.3 km from the Gadog toll exit. The restaurant is massive, with a Butchery House at its center, housed in a glass-walled building where sausages are made. As expected from a German restaurant, the specialty was a variety of sausages, like Bratwurst, Vienna Sausage, and Nuremberg Sausage—all absolutely delicious! Just order the Grilled Platter to get a taste of everything and share with friends. Another hit was the Rendang Sausage, which Donna raved about, saying, “No need to make rendang for Eid anymore!” That’s how good it was. We didn’t forget to enjoy the signature dessert: Apple Strudel with thin, crispy pastry layers, cream, and fresh apple slices. Pure bliss! There’s also a shop where you can buy an array of sausages and the famous Sausage Strudel and Apple Strudel, with a whole loaf costing only Rp 85,000!

Our final stop was the Chocomory store at Jl. Pajajaran 18, Bogor. Chocomory is Cimory’s chocolate brand, well-known as a souvenir from Bogor and Puncak. Its tagline, “Where Happiness Comes Alive,” is fitting, as the store is filled with various chocolates, cakes, and ice creams, all in a cute interior with handsome staff. While enjoying a Cimory Gelato (Mixed Berry is my favorite), I couldn’t resist stocking up on 4 flavors of Moo Moo Roll Cake (original, chocolate, strawberry, blueberry), 3 boxes of pies (original, cashew, cheese), Chocomory almond cookies, choco bags, and choco bars. I was genuinely happy that day, thanks to Cimory and Chocomory!

By the way, August 11, 2024, the Chocomory Pajajaran store will be hosting its Grand Opening. The event will feature a MooMooRUN 5K, performances by Adera Ega, and a mukbang. Plus, there’s a Buy 1 Get 1 Free promo for Moo Moo Roll!

Let’s go!
